STATION.--410501079524401 BUTLER COUNTY, local wellnumber BT311 LOCATION.--Lat 41 05'01", long 7952'44", Hydrologic Unit 05030105, at State Game Land Number95. OWNER.--U.S. Geological Survey. AQUIFER.--Kittanning Formation of Middle Pennsylvanianage. WELL CHARACTERISTICS.--Drilled observation artesianwell, diameter 6 in, depth 89 ft, cased to 12 ft, open hole. INSTRUMENTATION.--Data collection platform with60-minute recording interval. Satellite telemetry at station. DATUM.--Elevation of land surface is 1,465 ft abovesea level, from topographic map. Measuring point: Top of casing, 2.30ft above land-surface datum. REMARKS.--Water levels are affected by pumping fromlocal mines. PERIOD OF RECORD.--November 1970 to currentyear. COOPERATION.--Funding for the operation of thisstation is provided by the Pennsylvania Department of EnvironmentalProtection and the U.S. Geological Survey.
