This site is operated in cooperation with the Univeristy of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Illinois State Water Survey.
Access to this observation well site on the grounds of the
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), for the
measurement of ground-water levels, has been granted by the
Illinois State WaterSurvey (ISWS). For historical data
purposes, the well is referenced alternatively as NC 3 (North
Chiller Plant No. 3; ISWS designation) and 19N9E-7.3b1
(USGS designation). Water levels available for download from
NWISWEB were obtained from Burch and others (1999) for the
period prior to 1998; after that date water levels were
measured by the U.S.Geological Survey. Also, since the
inception of well construction, water levels have been
measured routinely by the ISWS. Requests for these water-level
data should be made through the ISWS, Center for Groundwater
Science (217-333-0493).
